Surf Sports Jan 2012

Surf Sports Report for
Management meeting 22/01/2012

This month in Crowdy Head surf sports we had a team go to The Stramit Country Championship at South West Rocks. The team, Zack Stayman, Chelsea Green, Lucy Green, Chelsea Grimmett, Benjamin Donnellon and David Muxlow. They all competed well with some great results. Well done team.

The Clubs new long board arrived and is ready to use. As a committee can we discuss who and how this board will be used, whether it is for members who have a certain number of years experience on boards, or just anyone that is eligible to ride it. It needs to be washed and stored on a rack not on the ground as some of our boards are being at the moment. Another board rack is in desperate need to keep our expensive equipment in good condition properly stored.

I would also ask for the allocation in the budget for next year another long board. We need to order soon so that it will be ready for next season.

I will be preparing a team for Branch Championship at Foster on the 11th and 12th of February and the Board Riding competition will be on the 4th of February. Entry sheet can be found on notice board and nippers table. Entries due by the 30th of January for the Board riding and 4th of February for the Championship entries.

Please be advised that all surf sports applications to become an accredited level 1 surf sports officials or relicense for level 1 or level 2 officials, need to be in to state centre by COB on Wednesday 20th February to be able to process their applications before the State Championships. I will contact those that need to do this.

We may have found a new person to repairer boards closer to home. His name is Tye McLaughlin. He is currently repairing a board free of charge to show us what he can do and then we will see what comes out of it.

There was no branch meeting this month held.

Yours in Life Saving
