How does SLS contribute to the local community? Have you completed the survey?
SLS members from communities across Australia have already completed this survey. If you have already completed this survey thank you very much for your time and contribution. If you are yet to do it we would like to hear your views as they are extremely valuable to us. It will take about 10 – 15 minutes. The survey is anonymous and therefore confidential, please answer all questions honestly. Click on the link or large start survey button at the end of this email to complete the survey. We’ve extended the closing date so why not click on the link and complete the survey now? What is this survey about? We know from the PwC report, “What is the economic contribution of Surf Life Saving in Australia” that Surf Life Saving’s coastal drowning and injury prevention efforts in 2009/10 is estimated at a value of $3.6 billion to the Australian economy. However, members’ contributions extend far beyond the beach and are largely unquantified. Surf Life Saving Australia in conjunction with the University of Technology, Sydney have made a survey to measure the social contribution surf club members make to their local communities both on and off the sand.
To develop a clear picture of the broader impact your surf life saving activities have made in communities around Australia we need all members of the age of 18 to complete the survey.
Please note the following before completing the survey;
This survey should only be completed by adults who are 18 years of age and over. If other people in your household are current members, they may also complete the survey.
The survey closes on Wednesday 30th November 2011.
Should you wish to ask us any further questions regarding the survey please contact Dr Melissa Edwards (
