Education Report
Executive Meeting 21st August 2011

At this current point in time the club is with out a Director of Education. The nominated Director Of Education had to resign due

to a conflict of interest.

The club at this point in time is SERVERLY UNDER RESOURCED to fore fill the club life saving needs. For the past 10 seasons the

club has relied on a few members for training and assessing and unfortunatly most these members are now finished in education and

in Life Saving in general.

We are only able to offer SRC/Bronze medallion and ARTC training. The club has no endorsed IRB crewman/ driver trainers or assessors

(I'am currently probabitionary) and no active Certificate 1V holders to deliver facillator courses.

Currently we are under taking an IRB drivers course, the course commenced mid July and an assessment has been scheduled for the end of

October.

An IRB crewmans course is earmarked for the start of the season.

A Bronze Medallion/SRC course is proposed for early September running for 5 - 6 weeks.

From the Training Officers course held last September, 2 of the canditates have now finished there post course work and are awaiting

accrediation.

Last Saturday 13th August an Assessors work shop was held at Tea Gardens SLSC.  IRB awareness is now part of the Bronze medallion

and has to be presented by a proficient IRB Driver. As IRB awareness is now part of the Bronze Medallion, an IRB assessor has to be present

at a Bronze Medallion Assessment.

Prior to the commentment of training a risk assessement must be carried out and as per the new Water Saftey Policy, water saftey must be

part of all aquatic training sessions.
