Life Saving Report for

Committe Meeting 19/11/2011

Patrols continue to be well represented and patrol swaps are being organised by those that can not attend their rostered Patrols.

As there is currently an abundance of sand on the beach, the pylon recontruction is on hold. Flags are being set in the time honoured way
of digging a hole in the sand.

A flashing light is available for the rhino and a small alminium bracket is needed. The light will have to be mounted on the underside of the
roll cage as a rack for a board and spinal board is still to be made and fitted.

Surf Guard is up to date. The IRD (incident report database) will be added to the patrol log on. All incidents requiring treatment will need to
be entered. Training will be provided for Patrol Captains & Vice Captains.

There are now 3 or 4 boards left for reparing. These will be taken for repair over the next few weeks. The contruction of a second board rack will
be under taken on the christmas holidays.

A few of the rescue boards donated by Old Bar SLSC are ready to be scrapped. Due to the age of the Coopernook Transport board and due to the
fact it needs repairing, I proposed it be taken out of service and sold. I have already had and enquiry for it. A sensible price needs to be determined.

The beacon has not been deployed yet due to a broken lamp cover The damage occured whilst in transit to us.

To meet OHS requirements, all patrolling members are being issued with a resusitation mask. Masks will be handed out to members whilst on patrol.

The club was successful in the $4$ grants achieving 100% funding for the items applied for. They being a training defib unit and rash shirts for IRB
drivers and crewman.

We will be appliing for the $2,500 DHL grants (only 7 Australia wide) probably applying for the IRB guard propeleler pack.

Yours in Life Saving

Gregory Irving
Director of Life Saving Crowdy Head SLSC.
