Life Saving Report for
Management Meeting 22/01/2012
The conclusion of the summer school roster, is 1 week away, and in general patrols have been well attended.
With very ordinary weather over this period, beach attendance has been down, meaning that there has been
a surplus of members on patrol. On the days when the weather has been good, and crowds up, having higher
numbers on patrol has been beneficial.
A patrol inspection was conducted on 1st January 2012 and no major issues identified. A minor issues is the
club has no workable bum bags. Each patrolling member should have there own to carry their own PPE.
Securing these should be via grant of donation and done in the off season.
The final boards are being repaired at Forster and all club members who freely gave their time to transport
them are to be thanked. Tye McLoughlin has approached me in relation to future board repairs and currently
repairing a nipper board free of charge, If the work is of a high standard, we should use him.
With the arrival of our new motor some weeks ago (??), the older of the motors and the the third IRB should
be put up for sale. A IRB repair kit will need to be purchased as the hull has a hole in it.
A hand full of members who are continual no shows, plus those members who have not paid fees plus those
leaving us for further education will necessitate a review of the roster for the last part of the season.
This will be posted on line and members informed via SMS and Email.
